Theatre Class
Welcome to Theatre!
Course Overview: Theatre 6 / Theatre 7 / Theatre 8
In this class, students will explore pantomime, movement, voice, acting, character development, improvisation, theatre history, analysis, scene study, and technical theatre in various ways. Theatre Arts students will have opportunities to share their progress with their classmates and the school community throughout the year.
Class Expectations: Theatre PRIDE
Personal Responsibility: Bring supplies to class daily: A Theatre Process Journal will be kept in class - but students are expected to bring a pencil/eraser, colored pencils, a highlighter, and tape to class daily. Chromebooks will be used on a day-by-day basis, and are not needed in class daily.
Respect: Treat fellow students, teachers, and others with respect. THEATRE IS A COLLABORATIVE ART THAT REQUIRES TEAMWORK. Without respect, the classroom team fails. With respect, it flourishes.
Integrity: Push yourself to work hard and cooperate in groups. Put your best work forward and be proud of what you share. THEATRE IS AN ACTIVE PARTICIPATION CLASS. Effort, cooperation, and participation with a positive attitude will be rewarded.
Discipline: Be present and ON TIME daily, ready to learn. This class is not effective when you are late or absent.
Empathy: Cooperation in group activities and willingness to share work. Encourage others to share. Give and receive constructive critiques for all to become better artists.
